Description: The Virginia Cedarwood is a slow-growing, coniferous evergreen, reaching heights of 33 metres or so, the diameter of the trunks can reach over 1.5 metre. It has a reddish heartwood and bears brown cones. Also known as Red cedar, it is from the family Cupressacea. Although this tree is from this family and not from the family Pinacea, it is still called Virginia Cedar.

Color: Pale yellow to brownish liquid.

Consistency: Thin

Aromatic Scent: Cedarwood Virginian scent is sweet and woody, sometimes reminiscent of sandalwood.

Strength of Aroma: Strong

Blends well with: Rosewood, Bergamot, Cypress, Cassia, Jasmine, Juniper, Neroli, Labdanum, Frankincense, Clary Sage, Vetiver, Rosemary, Ylang-ylang.

Important Note: Cederwood (Virginian) Oil contains 20% Cedrol which may cause the oil to crystallize over time. The melting point of Cedrol is 86º Celsius. By gently heating the oil, the cedrol liquefies and its solubility is improved for a period of time. It may re-crystallize again in cooler temperatures.
