Sun Soother Gel, 4.5 oz.
Sun Soother Gel is especially formulated with healing and emollient ingredients for healing sun-burned and sun-damaged skin. The gel contains fast-absorbing oils for immediate relief, as well as heavier gels for protection.
Sun Soother contains coconut, jojoba, kukuinut, oat, rosehip, chamomile, and rosemary oils, as well as aloe vera gel, vitamin E, and vegetable glycerin. Aloe (Aloe barbadensis) contains vitamin B complex, folic acid, vitamin C, and carotene. It is an effective natural moisturizer and has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Vegetable glycerin is hydroscopic, pulling moisture from the air and holding it in to the skin. Coconut (Cocos nucifera) oil is a fast-absorbing oil that is an excellent skin nourisher. It contains fatty acids and has anti-microbial, antiseptic, pain-relieving properties that aid in the healing process. Much like the sebum in human skin, jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) oil is quickly absorbed into the skin. It is anti-inflammatory and helps prevent infections. Rosehip (Rosa rubiginosa) oil is well-known for soothing and repairing damaged skin. It contains high amounts of vitamins E and A, and essential fatty acids that promote cell regeneration. Kukuinut (Aleurites moluccans) oil has been used for centuries by Hawaiians to protect again sun, wind, and salt-water damage. It contains vitamins A, C and E and fatty acids oleic, palmitic, and linoleic. It is a heavier oil, as is oat (Avena sativa) oil. High in antioxidants and tocopherols, oat oil soothes and protects the skin. It is also a pain and itch reliever. Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) oil has antiseptic, antibiotic, and sedative, and properties. Like rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), it is a pain-reliever when applied to the skin.
Sun Soother has a fresh, light scent. The combination of chamomile, rosemary, rosehips gives it a slightly floral yet herbaceous smell.
